Administrative Assistant
NativState is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to serve as the first point
of contact for our office in Camden, AR, and provide critical support to our forestry team. This role blends front-office hospitality with hands-on accounting support — most notably the reconciliation of timber sale tickets — and is best suited for someone who anticipates needs, stays ahead of deadlines, and takes ownership of their work. The ideal candidate is a forward thinker — someone who doesn’t just complete tasks, but sees what’s coming next, flags problems before they grow, and keeps the office running smoothly without needing to be told. Reliability, discretion, and a team-first attitude matter as much as experience.
- Reconcile timber sale tickets against mill statements and settlement reports, identifying and resolving discrepancies in volume, price, and payment in a timely and accurate manner.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally, taking accurate messages, and ensuring callers reach the right team member.
- Greet and assist walk-in customers, landowners, and vendors, providing a welcoming and helpful first impression of the company.
- Provide administrative support to the forestry team, including preparing documents, organizing project files, scheduling, data entry, and correspondence.
- Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems for timber sales, contracts, and landowner records.
- Assist with general office duties such as mail, supplies, and record keeping.
- Proactively identify ways to improve office processes and anticipate the needs of the team before being asked.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or administrative experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with numbers — experience reconciling accounts, invoices, or tickets is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with QuickBooks a plus.
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and think ahead.
- Familiarity with the timber or forestry industry is helpful but not required — we will train the right person.
This position will work onsite in our Camden, AR location.

Certification Director
NativState continues to grow and our projects now exceed 700,000 acres and serve more than 650 landowner partners. Each property is enrolled in FSC or SFI, creating a need for increased coordination with foresters, certifying organizations, and landowners. As NativState’s Certification Director you will be responsible for overseeing and managing forest certification programs to ensure compliance with internationally recognized standards. The position serves as a technical expert, coordinator, and liaison among forest managers, landowners, auditors, certification bodies, and internal teams.
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of forest certification systems.
- Manage certification audits (initial, surveillance, and re-certification), including planning, preparation, and follow-up.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable certification standards, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor changes in certification requirements and assess implications for forest operations.
- Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and certification data.
- Coordinate with forest managers, contractors, landowners, and other stakeholders.
- Registered Forester.
- In-depth knowledge of forest certification programs.
- Program level direct experience with FSC and/or SFI on large acreages.
- 10+ years experience in forest management, forest certification, sustainability, or auditing.

Forest Management Director
NativState continues to grow and our projects now exceed 700,000 acres across multiple states and serve more than 650 landowner partners. The Forest Management Director provides strategic and operational leadership for all forest management activities and associated customer relations including FMP creation, landowner assistance, education, and communication.
- Leads forest management efforts across all enrolled projects.
- Technical expert on forest management.
- Directly supervises Regional Foresters in the day-to-day accomplishment of management goals.
- Develops and manages operational budget.
- Oversees documentation and reporting requirements.
- Works cross-functionally with carbon accounting, project development and GIS to deliver high-quality, investment-grade forest carbon projects.
- Registered Forester.
- 10+ years progressive forestry experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.

Inventory Forester
The NativState Inventory Forester is a technically focused field role responsible for the design, execution, and quality assurance of forest and carbon inventory activities across NativState’s portfolio of enrolled landowner properties. This position is the company’s primary resource for generating the rigorous, registry-compliant measurement data that underlies NativState’s carbon credit issuance and project verification processes.
Reporting to the Inventory Director, the Inventory Forester works across multiple properties and project areas to collect, process, and validate forest inventory data in accordance with applicable carbon registry protocols (ACR, Verra VCS, CAR IFM) and NativState’s internal measurement standards. A core component of this role is supporting and coordinating third-party verification site visits — ensuring that field data, documentation, and plot records are audit-ready and that verifiers have the access and information needed to complete their review efficiently. The successful candidate will combine precision field-measurement skills with strong data-management discipline and a working knowledge of carbon accounting methodology.
- Forest & Carbon Inventory
- Implement statistically rigorous forest inventory sampling designs appropriate for carbon project methodology requirements and property characteristics.
- Third-party Verification Support
- Participate in all third-party verification site visits, working closely with accredited verification bodies (VBs) on behalf of NativState.
- Data Management & Quality Control
- Enter, validate, and manage inventory data in NativState’s forestry database and GIS systems with a high standard of accuracy and completeness.
- Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate inventory scheduling with Management Foresters and landowners to ensure timely access to enrolled properties.
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Forest Biometrics, Natural Resources, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. (Required)
- Master’s degree with an emphasis in forest mensuration, biometrics, or carbon accounting. (Preferred)
- Minimum of 2–4 years of professional forestry experience with a strong emphasis on forest inventory, mensuration, or timber cruising. (Required)
- Demonstrated experience designing and executing sample-based forest inventory programs. (Required)
- Experience with permanent sample plot establishment, monumenting, and re-measurement. (Required)
- Experience with forest biometrics, volume and biomass equations, and carbon stock computation. (Preferred)
- State Registered Forester (RF) designation, or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire. (Required)
- Society of American Foresters (SAF) Certified Forester (CF) credential. (Preferred)
- Familiarity with or training in carbon registry inventory protocols (ACR Forest Carbon, Verra VCS VM0010/VM0034, CAR IFM Protocol). (Strongly Preferred)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. (Required)
- Expert-level proficiency in field mensuration techniques, including DBH measurement, height estimation, crown assessment, and plot layout.
- Strong command of GPS/GIS technology, including plot navigation, shapefile management, and map production using ArcGIS or QGIS.
- Proficiency with forestry inventory software (e.g., T-Cruise).
- Working knowledge of carbon registry inventory protocols, additionality requirements, and monitoring/reporting/verification (MRV) frameworks.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity; experience working in audit-sensitive or regulated data environments.
- Ability to work independently across a geographically dispersed project portfolio with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple inventory projects, plot networks, and verification timelines simultaneously.
- Physical capacity for sustained, precision-oriented fieldwork in demanding outdoor environments, including dense forest, rough terrain, and variable weather.
Most work is conducted in LA and AR with remote options considered.

Forestry Team
Forestry is foundational to NativState’s success, so we want to meet foresters who not only excel in their field but also come with the skills and curiosity to establish trusting, transparent relationships with landowners. You will work closely with our GIS and Forest Carbon teams on forest inventory and carbon modeling and help create plans for carbon management unique to each property. Your expertise will guide the development and implementation of forest management plans, ensuring the future of high-quality nature-based carbon credits and the future of wildlife habitat and water quality.
We’re looking for registered foresters (or candidates) to be part of a movement addressing global climate concerns through sustainable forest management with small forest landowners. You are forward- thinking and eager to learn and expand your knowledge of the Voluntary Carbon Market. You enjoy establishing working relationships with landowners and have a track record of trust-building with your clients.

Forest Carbon Analyst
Our Carbon Forest team is at the forefront of NativState’s mission. Our contributions are essential to measuring and modeling projections of forest carbon. Together with our GIS and Forestry teams, we assess, develop, and prepare for the verification of high-quality carbon credits. As a member of the Forest Carbon team, you will help develop high-quality carbon credits for our buyers, returning significant value to our landowner partners.
At NativState we’re looking for team members with curiosity, drive, and integrity. We are looking for individuals with a full range of skills to process, calculate, analyze, and digest raw and finalized forest carbon data. Our Forest Carbon team works together with the GIS and Forestry teams to develop long-term forest carbon projections and collaborates with internal and external partners on carbon development plans.
