Michael Casey Gelnaw

Michael joined NativState in September 2024 as VP of Partnerships, bringing a wealth of experience across corporate sustainability, climate, and voluntary carbon markets. Michael started his sustainability career in utility-scale solar & wind project development, partnering with large corporations like Microsoft, Apple, and many more to help them meet their climate commitments through long term offtake agreements.

Michael’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for impact led him to join tech startups (LevelTen Energy and subsequently Patch) focused on building marketplaces, solutions, and platforms to scale the markets for renewables and carbon. In joining NativState, Michael returns to the supply side of the market with a single mission in mind: conserving, protecting, and restoring the planet’s most important resource in the fight against the climate crisis – nature.

Outside of work Michael is an avid snowboarder, mountain/road biker, hiker, and yogi, and loves to explore Denver and the Colorado front range with his wife Annie.
