Preserving the Rivers and Landscapes of the South
The Central Interior Forests of the Boston Mountains and Ozark Hills Project spans three ecoregions across Arkansas and Missouri: The Central Interior Broadleaf Forest, Mississippi Alluvial Plains in the River Delta, and the Southeast Middle Mixed Forest.
The western reach of this project features hardwood forests, mountain streams, and habitat for black bears, bobcat, deer, bats, birds, and aquatic species, among others. Further east, the land within this project becomes flatter as it transitions into the Mississippi Alluvial Plain which is home to abundant waterfowl and networks of waterbodies that feed into the Mississippi River.
